Where to Hear Live Music in Fort Collins: The Best Venues, Bars & Music Festivals

Fort Collins is a great live music town, with a vibrant scene where you can catch everything from national touring bands at historic theaters to local acts on a brewery patio. Whether you’re planning a trip specifically around a concert or just hoping to catch a show while you’re in town, Fort Collins offers an impressive range of music venues, festivals, and weekly concerts throughout the year. Below is our guide to enjoying live music in Fort Collins!

Aggie Theatre

Located in the heart of Old Town, the Aggie Theatre is one of Fort Collins’ most beloved live music venues. Built in 1906, the venue blends historic character with modern sound and lighting systems. With room for 650 concertgoers, this is a comfortable venue where you can get close to the stage - there’s rarely a bad spot in the house! A diverse lineup of indie rock, hip-hop, country and EDM artists play at the Aggie every year, and its central location on College Avenue in downtown Fort Collins makes it easy to grab dinner before the show and walk to the show.

Washington's

One of the best places to catch live music in Fort Collins is Washington’s, a popular concert venue located in the heart of Old Town Fort Collins. This intimate yet energetic venue holds about 900 people, making it large enough to host nationally touring artists while still giving fans an up-close concert experience.

Washington’s features state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems, a tiered balcony with excellent views of the stage, and multiple full-service bars so guests can grab a drink without missing the show. The building itself has a long Fort Collins history—it dates back to 1903 and previously housed a beloved sports bar before being renovated into the music venue it is today.

Mishiwaka Amphitheater

Along the banks of the Cache la Poudre River, The Mishiwaka (referred to locally as "The Mish") is a legendary concert venue that offers an intimate stage with the Poudre Canyon as a backdrop - a really fun experience! This outdoor amphitheater hosts concerts surrounded by forested canyon walls and flowing river water, creating a uniquely Colorado live music experience.

Located just 35 minutes northwest of Fort Collins, it's well worth the trip up the canyon for a concert. Stop by early to enjoy food and drinks on the riverside deck and soak up the mountain scenery before the music begins.

Other Music Venues in Fort Collins

Beyond the big venues, Fort Collins has plenty of smaller stages and local concert venues that help keep the music scene vibrant. Venues like The ArmoryThe Magic Rat, and The Lyric regularly host local bands and touring acts. These venues are where you can find live performances across the city most nights of the week, so you can enjoy a spontaneous show while you’re exploring Fort Collins.

Several breweries, restaurants, and Fort Collins neighborhood favorites regularly host solo artists and bands, from bluegrass happy hours to late‑night DJ sets. You can frequently catch live music at these Fort Collins breweries: Maxline, Breckenridge Brewing, Salt Road, and New Belgium.

Smaller spots like Avogadro’s Number and Ace Gillett’s are perfect for low‑key, up‑close performances.

Fort Collins Music Festivals and Outdoor Concerts

FOCOMX Music Festival

This 2-day festival features hundreds of Colorado bands and artists performing on dozens of stages, ranging from theaters and clubs to breweries and restaurants. Part music festival and part downtown adventure, attendees can wander between venues throughout Old Town, catching sets from diverse bands and discovering new artists along the way.
