Beyond Beer: Fort Collins Cideries and Wineries

For beer lovers, Fort Collins is well known for its outstanding craft beer scene, with over 25 great breweries around town. But as the temps drop, crisp ciders and cozy, fuller-bodied wines just feel right—swapping summer’s ice-cold beers for sips that match fall’s spices and hearty meals. Downtown tasting rooms, urban wineries and nearby boutique vineyards make Fort Collins an excellent destination for sipping and strolling – especially in the fall. Crisp days, golden cottonwoods along the Poudre River and the laid-back shoulder season energy make Fort Collins a cozy place to sample flights and soak up autumn vibes. Here are our picks for where to sip some cider and wine in Fort Collins!

Fort Collins Cideries

Locust Cider

This Fort Collins taproom sits right in Old Town and is built for relaxed sipping. A rotating tap of seasonally focused ciders, an approachable food menu (their kitchen is entirely gluten free), and a friendly atmosphere make this cidery perfect for a crisp fall afternoon. Grab a table outside and enjoy the crisp air along with a cider flight and sharable plate.

Scrumpy's Hard Cider Bar

Scrumpy’s is the Fort Collins taproom for Summit Hard Cider, offering a cozy, casual space that invites you to stay a while. The taproom features 48 rotating taps, including an array of Summit Hard Ciders as well as guest beers, ciders, wines, and meads. Tap offerings often include limited release batches and fall-themed varieties (think apple spice), so you will have plenty of options to sample. The small bites menu pairs well with the cider selections, and events like trivia, karaoke, game nights, and weekly specials keep this spot lively every day of the week.

Fort Collins Wineries and Wine Bars

The OBC Wine Project

Started in 2020 by a team from Odell Brewing, The OBC Wine Project offers a modern, urban winery experience with a welcoming tasting room and wonderful outdoor patio - a local favorite during the summer and fall months! Their boutique approach focuses on award-winning, small-batch wines locally made in Fort Collins and served up in a chic tasting room, with staff to walk you through tasting notes and pairing suggestions. In addition to locally made wines, OBC also serves up a variety of spritzes, mimosas, froses, and light snacks. The dog-friendly outdoor patio is perfect for fall afternoon tastings, with live music and weekly events bringing the fun. As an added bonus, OBC is right next door to it's sister company, Odell Brewing, and you can bring beer/wine between the two locations. A perfect way to satisfy both the beer and wine drinkers in the group!

Blendings Winery

This small-production winery is part of Northern Colorado’s growing wine scene, with unique varietals and locally-sourced grapes. The exclusive tasting room offers wine pairings and small plate charcuterie options by reservation only, creating an intimate wine tasting experience. Guided tastings are available for a more in-depth exploration, and fall is a great time to experience the vineyard’s changing seasonal expressions.

Sweetheart Winery

Located just 15 minutes south of Fort Collins in Loveland, Sweetheart Winery pairs Colorado-made wines with a gorgeous foothills setting—perfect for a crisp fall afternoon. Settle in on the patio with a tasting flight, linger by the fire pits, and savor reds that shine in cooler weather while cottonwoods along the river start to turn yellow. It’s an easy add to a Fort Collins fall itinerary: think sweaters, charcuterie, live-music vibes on select days, and golden-hour views that make every sip feel extra cozy.

Taste and Savor Wine Bar

This stylish Fort Collins wine bar offers a curated list of local and global wines, with thoughtfully paired charcuterie boards, small plates and desserts to complement each pour. Their elegant, comfortable tasting room is the perfect spot to relax with a glass on a brisk fall day, while rotating events and themed tasting sessions keep the experience fresh and fun all year long.

 The Welsh Rabbit

Tucked into Old Town Fort Collins, The Welsh Rabbit is a favorite local cheese-and-wine bistro that’s tailor-made for fall evenings (or a cozy evening any time of the year!). Settle in with a thoughtfully curated wine list (by the glass or bottle), build a cheese flight or charcuterie board, and let the staff guide you to spot-on pairings.
